polyaluminium chloride has good decolourisation performance, therefore, the iron salt flocculant is commonly used for decolourisation of printing and dyeing wastewater. With ferrous sulfate, sulfuric acid, aluminium salt as the basic raw material, in sulfuric acid medium with MnO2 as the catalyst, obtained by air oxidation of a high degree of polymerization of inorganic polymer polymeric ferric sulfate flocculant, the treatment of printing and dyeing wastewater, the decolourization of wastewater up to 98% or more, the COD removal rate of 75% or more, and basically meets the required discharge standards. Printing and dyeing wastewater in the biochemical conditioning tank of a printing and dyeing factory is mainly reactive dyestuffs, supplemented by direct dyestuffs, which belongs to high chromaticity and high concentration wastewater, when this wastewater is treated by coagulation, when the dosage of polyaluminium chloride is 700-900mg/L, and the pH value is controlled at 5.4-6.6, the decolourisation rate is up to 93% and the alumina produced by PAC compared with other flocculants is large and the settling speed is fast, in addition, the study also found that for the treatment of reactive dyestuffs, the COD removal rate is more than 98%. It was also found that for the printing and dyeing wastewater dominated by reactive dyes, the dosage of polyaluminium chloride was more than the dosage for the treatment of hydrophobic dyes. The flocculation method was used to treat bromine reactive dye production wastewater, and when the dosage of polyaluminium chloride was 2g/L, the decolourisation rate and COD removal rate were above 90%. In addition, the study on the mechanism of coagulation and decolourisation of dye wastewater further showed that the pH range of polyaluminium chloride coagulation and decolourisation was wide, and a more satisfactory decolourisation effect could be obtained for most of the dye wastewaters, but polyaluminium chloride flocculant could not be used to decolourise the hydrophilic dyestuffs which were monoazo, low molecular weight and contained more water-soluble groups.
