Methods to improve the use of polyacrylamide

As a polymer, polyacrylamide has a wide range of properties including flocculation, thickening, shear and resistance reduction. Therefore, we should first understand the use of polyacrylamide and then make adjustments accordingly. In the field of water treatment, the effect of polyacrylamide is not good, we should make the following adjustments:

1 Increase the dosage of polyacrylamide. In waste water treatment, increasing the dosage of polyacrylamide can increase the volume and weight of the floc, making it easier for the floc to settle, thus achieving a better purification effect. However, it is necessary to ensure that the dosage is not too high, otherwise it may have the opposite effect.

2 Set up the polyacrylamide model. There are two indicators of polyacrylamide: molecular weight and ionicity. When using anionic polyacrylamide, we can adjust the molecular weight of polyacrylamide to achieve better flocculation effect; when using cationic polyacrylamide, we can adjust the ionicity of polyacrylamide. The flocculation effect of polyacrylamide is different depending on its ionicity. If the ionicity is too high, it may make the water more unstable and affect the flocculation effect.

3 Check the mixing speed. When adding polyacrylamide, the stirring speed also affects its flocculation effect. If the stirring speed is too fast, the polyacrylamide may not be fully dissolved, which will affect its flocculation effect. Therefore, we can control the stirring speed to achieve a better flocculation effect.
