Application of polyaluminum chloride and polyacrylamide in coal mine water treatment

1. Application of polyaluminum chloride:

case4-1

1.1 Improve settlement: Coal mine water contains a large amount of solid particles, such as coal shavings, sediment, and other suspended solids. After the addition of polyaluminum chloride, it forms larger flocs through its polymerization characteristics, enhances sedimentation, effectively reduces suspended solids in wastewater, significantly improves sedimentation rate, and shortens treatment time.

1.2 Reduce the concentration of heavy metal ions: There may be heavy metal ions such as lead, mercury, and cadmium in mine water, which pose a significant threat to water bodies and the ecological environment. Polyaluminum chloride can react with these heavy metal ions to form insoluble precipitates, reducing their concentration in water and minimizing heavy metal pollution, resulting in effluent quality that meets national sewage discharge standards.

1.3 Improve water purification effect: It can effectively remove turbidity and chromaticity from water, improve the visual effect and water quality indicators of water bodies, help restore the ecological environment, and also reduce the burden of subsequent water treatment.

2. Application of Polyacrylamide:

case4-2

2.1 Promote solid-liquid separation: Polyacrylamide mainly plays a coagulation role in the process of mine water treatment. It can cause small particles and suspended solids in water to aggregate and form larger flocs, accelerating the process of solid-liquid separation. Especially in the treatment of coal slurry, it can promote rapid sedimentation of coal slurry and improve the recovery efficiency of coal slurry.

2.2 Sludge dewatering: After treatment, mine water will produce a certain amount of sludge, and polyacrylamide can be used in the sludge dewatering process. By adding polyacrylamide, the moisture in the sludge can be more easily separated from solid particles, reducing the moisture content and volume of the sludge, making it easier for subsequent treatment and disposal.

In practical applications, polyaluminum chloride and polyacrylamide are usually used in combination. First, add polyaluminum chloride for preliminary coagulation treatment, and then add polyacrylamide to further enhance the coagulation effect, which can improve the treatment efficiency and quality of mine water. But the specific dosage and method of use need to be tested and adjusted according to the water quality characteristics of the mine water.
